Strong performances for Quebec in Guelph and Renfrew

Quebec clubs once again had another good showing in back to back tournaments in Ontario this past weekend.  CLIC, Montreal YMHA, les Patriotes de St-Cesaire and Vanier College sent athletes to the Our Lady of Lourdes Invitational held in Guelph and the Norm Bujold Rumble held in Renfrew and the results were once again quite strong as Quebec continues to post fantastic results en-route to the Canada Games.

At the Our Lady of Lourdes Invitational, wrestling for the Montreal YMHA wrestling in the High school Boys Division, Marius Samson (47.5 kgs), Nicolae Grandrabura (54 kgs) and Natael Lebrun-Cantin (64 kgs) and all won Gold medals in their divisions while Jason Luneau took second at 51 kgs.  On the Girls side for the Montreal YMHA, Cristina Coreconceva won Gold at 61 kgs.  For les Patriotes de St-Cesaire, it was a clean sweep as Samuel (67.5 kgs Highschool Boys) and Erin Rainville (54 kgs Highschool Girls) both won Gold in their divisions.  Rounding out the results from Vanier College, Jaskaran Singh (72 kgs Highschool Boys), Aron Orzack (77 kgs Highschool Boys), Julien Choquette (89 kgs Highschool Boys) and Jonathan Campagnolo (95 kgs Highschool Boys) all won Gold medals while on the Girls side, Kaya Dube-Snow (57.5 kgs Highschool Girls), Alexandria Campbell (72 kgs Highschool Girls) and Alexia Sherland (77 kgs Highschool Girls) also came home with Gold Medals, completing the clean sweep for Vanier College.

At the Norm Bujold Rumble, wrestling for CLIC Thomas Rizk took a Silver medal at 97 kgs while from the Montreal YMHA, Marius Samson (47.5 kgs), Nicolae Grandrabura (54 kgs) and Natael Lebrun-Cantin (63 kgs) all won Gold medals.  Jason Luneau (51 kgs) Artuur Hovhannisyan (56 kgs) and Amine Bellal (67.5 kgs) finished second at their respective weight divisions.  From les Patriotes de St-Cesaire, Samuel Rainville (67.5 kgs) and Erin Rainville (54 kgs Girls) both won Gold in their divisions.  Finally from Vanier College, Jaskran Singh (72 kgs), Julien Choquette (85 kgs) and Jonathan Campagnolo (97 kgs) won Gold medals in their divisions.  Congratulations once again has to go to our Quebec athletes for another strong competition!
