April 2015

The Cadet-Juvenile National Championships are the highlight of the month of April.  Held on Friday, April 10th to the 12th in Fredericton New Brunswick at UNB's Aitken Center, the contingent of wrestlers from Quebec posted better results than in past years.  Starting with the Cadet Division at 46 kg, Nathan Hoyte of the Chelsea Spartans took the Silver medal. Next at 54 kg, Ayoub Bencherif placed 5th while Julien Choquette of the Club de Lutte les Patriotes was the sole Gold medal winner for Quebec, winning the 69 kg division.  Rounding out the Cadet results, Nicholas Styres of KSS placed 4th at 76 kg, while Jonathan Campagnolo of the Montreal YMHA placed 5th at 100 kg.  Quebec as a province finished a respectable 4th place amongst the provinces despite having one of the smaller contingents.  Congratulations to our Quebec wrestlers for all their hard work!
