Teams from Montreal YMHA, Vanier College and St-Cesaire competed in two tournaments this weekend; The Bishop Ryan Invitational on Friday and the Matmen Classic on Saturday. Both tournaments provided many tough matches and a good level of comeptition as teams from all over Ontario, as well as Alberta, Manitoba and PEI competed.
At the Bishop Ryan tournament, Jaskaran Singh from the Montreal YMHA took home a Gold Medal at 71 kgs while Dylan Mclean (61 kgs) and Aly Barghout (115 kgs) of Vanier College both won Gold in their respective divisions. Laurence Beauregard of Vanier College, wrestling at 61 kgs Girls division won a Silver Medal. Julien Choquette of the Patriotes de St-Cesaire won a Bronze medal at 76 kgs.

Competing at The Matmen Classic, CLIC, Montreal YMHA, the Patriotes de St-Cesaire and the Westwood Crazy Dogs took part in this tounrament. The tournament is widely regarded as one of the best high school tournaments in the country.

Jaskaran Singh from the Montreal YMHA repeated his Gold Medal performance at 71 kgs while from Vanier College, Alex Moore at 74 kgs, Aly Barghout at 115 kgs and Laurence Beauregard at 61 kgs also captured Gold Medals.

Wrestling for the Patriotes de St-Cesaire in the Kids Division, Olivier Paré (41 kgs) won Gold while Nathan Rainville wrestling at 30 kgs took home a Silver Medal. In the Bantam Division, Marius Samson (41 kgs), Ilie Dragoman (51 kgs) and Jose De LaCortina (56.5 kgs) all won Gold Medals Mathis Rainville was second at 66-70 kg. In the Cadet Division, Nicolae Ganbradura (46 kgs) and Samuel Rainville (69 kgs) came home with Silver Medals. Rounding out the results in the Open Division, Julien Choquette won a Gold Medal at 80 kgs

From the Westwood Crazy Dogs, Mackenzie Wilson took a Silver Medal at the 60 kgs Cadet Girls while Jason Guy-Luneau also won a Silver medal in the Cadet division at 42 kgs.
Rounding out the results from the weekend, Christopher Merlo from CLIC took home a Gold Medal at the Cadet 38 kgs Boys division while Ayoub Ben-Cherif also from CLIC won a Silver Medal at the 58 kgs Open Boys division.
