Results from the Quinte Saints and the Guelph Invitational

On Saturday January 16th, KSS sent five wrestlers to the Quinte Saints tournament in Belleville Ontario.  The results were quite strong as Nicholas Styres (83 kgs Boys) and Kanerahtens Bush (54 kgs Boys) both won Gold medals while Kye Diabo (77 kgs Boys) took home a Bronze medal.  In addition to that, Nicholas Styres won the Outstanding Male Wrester for the Quinte Saints Tournament.  Congratulations to Coach Peter Montour and KSS on their fine results!

At Guelph University, the Guelp Open features some of the top competitors from across Canada and the United-States as Guelph is Carding tournament.  Athletes wishing to obtain carding money must compete at this tournament.  Therefore, the Guelph tournament fields a strong level of competition.  From Quebec, wrestlers from the Montreal YMHA competed with some great results in both the Men and Women divisions.

 

James Mancini, wrestling at 61 kgs, Jordie Steen at 86 kgs and Yak Al-Rekabi at 120 kgs all won Gold Medals in the Mens Division while Linda Morais was first at 58 kgs Women.

Taking home Bronze Medals were Scott Schiller at 65 kgs and Ali Al-Rekabi at 97 kgs.  Veronica Keefe at 75 kgs Women rounds out the results for the Guelph Open.
