The Western Invitational

Members from Concordia University and the Montreal YMHA competed at the Western Invitational in London Ontario this past weekend.  The tournament is one of the stops on the university tour and fields athletes from the CIS and club programs. The results for the two clubs from Quebec were quite strong as from Concordia Univeristy Trevor Banks werstling at 54 kgs and Vince de Marinis wrestling at 65 kgs both captured Gold Medals.

 

Taking home a Silver Medal for Concordia was Francis Carter wrestling at 68 kgs while Petr Prokopiev (82 kgs) captured a Bronze Medal.

 

Rounding out the results for Concordia in the Womens Division, Linda Morais (59 kgs) took the Gold Medal in her category while Jade Dufour captured a Bronze Medal at 51 kgs.

 

For the Montreal YMHA, Alex Moore (72 kgs) and Ali Al-Rekabi (120 kgs) both won Gold Medals in their divisions while Sam Barmish was second at 76 kgs.  Taking home Bronze medals were Gabriel Choueke (61 kgs), Scott Schiller (65 kgs) and Guseyn Ruslanzada (68 kgs).  Rounding out the results for the Montreal YMHA, Veronica Keefe won a Gold Medal in the Womens 82 kgs.
