Results from the Canada East Championships

On Saturday and Sunday May 14-15 2016, the Eastern Canadian Championships took place in St-Cesaire QC.  The tournament pits athletes from the Eastern part of Canada from Ontario to the Maritimes in both boys and girls from the age divsions of Novice to Bantam.  Quebec athletes did very well at the competion.  The results were as follows:

Boys Novice Division, Wyatt Collins (30.6 kgs) from the Riverdale Wrestling Club took a Silver medal while Nicolas Lescadre (26.6 kgs) from CLIC took home a Gold Medal.  Saloman Lacasse (31.3 kgs) from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire also took home a Silver medal while Adrian Collins (33.0 kgs) from the Riverdale Wrestling Club was also a Silver Medalist.  Rounding the results for the Novice Boys were Rafael Cote (Silver medal at 35.4 kgs) from CLIC and Thomas Gagnon (Bronze medal 36.9 kgs) from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire.

In the Kids Boys Divsion, the results were quite strong as Tommy Caron (28.1 kgs) from the Montreal YMHA won a Gold medal while Michael Leblanc (30 kgs) from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire was also a Gold medalist.  Rounding out the results for the divsion, wrestling for the Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire were Nathan Rainville (Gold at 31.7 kgs), Cristobal Delacortina (Bronze at 31.7 kgs), Isaac Lacasse (Silver at 41.7 kgs) and Emile Forgues (Bronze at 49.7 kgs)

In the Kids Girls Division, Ariane Lauzon (37.5 kgs) from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire won Bronze while Sabrina Montour (46.1 kgs) from KSS also won a Bronze.

In the Bantam Boys, Olivier Pare (41.9 kgs) from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire won a Silver medal while Marius Samson (46.9 kgs) from the Montreal YMHA also won a Silver Medal.  At 55.9 kgs, Jose Delacortina from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire won a Silver Medal while Ilie Dragoman (61.9 kgs) wrestling for the Montreal YMHA won a Gold Medal.  Rounding out the results from the Riverdale Wrestling Club, David Collins took a Silver at 59.2 kgs while Derek Fortier (38.8 kgs) of Club Minotaure  and Mathias Rainville (70.4 kgs) from Les Patriotes de Ste. Cesaire both won Bronze medals.

In the Bantam Girls Division Jordan Goodleaf (38.6 kgs) from KSS won a Bronze Medal while at 48.2 kgs, Winter Goodleaf (KSS) alos won a Bronze Medal. at 75 kgs, KSS swept the top two spots as Tekanekake Stacey the Gold Medal and Stella McComber, the Silver.  Rounding out the results for the Bantam Girls, Teiostatoneh Diabo from KSS placed third wrestling at 51.9 kgs.
