Results from the Commonwealth Championships

The Commonwealth Championships were held in Singapore at the Suntec Convention Centre.  Canada sent a strong contingent of athletes, with a strong showing from our Quebec athletes from the Montreal YMHA.  Linda Morais, fresh off her victory at the FISU Games put in a strong performance at 60 kgs by winning a Gold medal.  Veronica Keefe, was equally dominant with a Gold performance at the 75 kgs weight division.

On the Mens side, Trevor Banks took home a Bronze medal at 57 kgs while Vincent De Marinnis also won a Bronze medal at 65 kgs.  Rounding out the results for our Quebec wrestlers, Jordan Steen wrestling at 86 kgs won a Bronze medal while Nariman Irankhan placed 5th in the same division.  Ali Al-Rekabi won a Bronze medal at 97 kgs while Yakhdan Al-Rekabi placed 5th at 125 kgs.
