Beamsville and the Quebec Open

The weekend of November 26th was another busy one as Quebec wrestlers from les Patriotes de St-Cesaire, Vanier College and the Montreal YMHA travelled to the the Beamsville Highschool tournament for Friday and then competed in the Quebec Open on Saturday.

At Beamsville from the Montreal YMHA, Jason Luneau won the Bronze medal at 52 kgs while Nicolae Gandrabura (56.5 kgs), Nataël Lebrun-Cantin (63.5 kgs), Jaskaran Singh (72 kgs) and Alexia Sherland (77 kgs) all won Gold medals in their respective categories.  From the Patriotes de St-Cesaire, Samuel Rainville won Gold at 67.5 kgs while Erin Rainville took home a Silver medal at 57.5 kgs.  Finally, the wrestlers from Vanier College made a clean sweep of their weight categories as Julien Choquette (76 kgs), Jonathan Campagnolo (92 kgs), Kaya Dubé Snow (57.5 kgs) and Alex Campbell (72 kgs) from Vanier College all won Gold medals.


At the annual Quebec Open, nearly two hundred wreslters competed from Quebec, Ontario and PEI.  The Quebec Open has been a staple of the Quebec wrestling scene and is an excellent tournament for beginner and intermediate wrestlers.
