After a long hiatus, the Montreal Open returned to the Centre Claude Robillard this past Saturday March 18th. The tournament featured strong competition from many different clubs as some American Clubs such as Mohawk Valley, several Ontario Clubs, clubs from Eastern Canada and even some athletes from Western Canada all competed in the tournament. The tournament had a variety of age groups from Bantam all the way up to an Open Division which was similar to an Ontario Highschool age group (Juvenile-First year Junior). All the major Quebec clubs sent wrestlers to the competiton and as in tournaments past, competed well against athletes from the other clubs. Nick Styres from KSS won the Outstanding Wrestler for the tournament and the Patriotes de St-Cesaire won the team title for the tournament. For its return, the Montreal Open showed a lot of promise and is an excellent addition to the tournament schedule for Quebec.
