Results from the 2017 Concordia Invitational

Concordia University held it's annual varsity tournament at the Loyola Gymnasium on Sunday October 27.  The tournament featured over ninety wrestlers from ten different clubs and universities from Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, New York State and of course, Quebec.  The tournament also featured a Referee and Pairing Masters Clinic as well.  CLIC, Concordia University, the Montreal YM-YWHA, the Riverdale Wrestling Club and Vanier College were on hand to represent the province and the results were very strong.

From CLIC, Marcelo Tolentino took Bronze at 130 kgs while wrestling for Concordia, Jade Dufour (51 kgs), Francis Carter (65 kgs), Amanda Savard (67 kgs), Vince De Marinnis (68 kgs) and Frederique Choquette all won Gold in their respective divisions.  Rounding out the results for Concordia, Christina Corecencova took home a Silver medal at 63 kgs.

From the Montreal YM-YWHA, Trevor Banks (57 kgs), Gabriel Choueke (61 kgs), Linda Morais (63 kgs), Genevieve Lamarche (72 kgs) Guseyn Ruslanzada (76 kgs) and Kyle Price (90 kgs) won Gold Medals in their respective divisions while Laurence Beauregard (59 kgs), Sam Garland (65 kgs) and Jeremy Poirier (100 kgs) took home Silver Medals.  Finishing with Bronze Medals were Dajinder Singh (68 kgs), William Evans (72 kgs) and Matt Soccholotiuk (82 kgs).

The last round of medalists came from Vanier College.  Sam Barmish (82 kgs) and Kaya Dubé-Snow (55 kgs) won Gold Medals while taking Silver Medals were Dylan McLean (61 kgs), Alexia Sherland (67 kgs) Aron Orszak (82 kgs) and Aly Barghout (130 kgs).

Montreal YM-YWHA won the Team Title in the Mens Division while taking second in the Womens Division.  Concordia University was second in the Mens Divsion and won the Team Title in the Womens Division.  Montreal YM-YWHA won the Combined Mens and Womens Title.
