On Saturday November 4th, George St-Pierre made history by becoming only the fourth UFC fighter to win a championship belt in two different weight divisions.  George or GSP as he's known to the world at large submitted Middleweight Champion Micheal Bisping at UFC 217 in front of a sold-out, and mostly pro-GSP crowd to become the new Middleweight Champion.

Widely considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, George returned on Tuesday November 7th to the Montreal YMHA, the place where he first learned how to wrestle.  In a gesture of supreme class, George gave his new belt to head coach Victor Zilberman and the Montreal YMHA Wrestling Club as a gesture of thanks for all the years that the club has contributed to his career.

George finished the presentation with a motivational speech, encouraging all the young athletes at the practice to pursue their dreams and to never give up.  Though MMA is not wrestling, wrestling is an important part of MMA.  Many of the lessons that George learned are applicable to the discipline required to become a wrestler and the way he trained to become a champion. Furthermore, the way in which George acts both inside and outside the cage is the same as he displays the demeanour of a true champion and these are valuable lessons that can help all wrestlers as they pursue their dreams to become champions themselves.
