The Montreal Open was held one week after the Junior-Senior Nationals at Centre Claude Robillard.  The tournament featured clubs from Maine, New York, Nova Scotia, Ontario and PEI fielded a large and competitive group of over 250 athletes from the Cadet age group to the Ontario high school age division (Juvenile to first year Junior).  Quebec clubs were well represented as CLIC, KSS, Massey Vanier, Montreal YMHA, les Patriotes de St-Cesaire, the Riverdale Wrestling Club as well as MMA club Fighters Dream competed in the competition.

At the end of the day, the tournament is still going strong

The tournament was held in the smaller gym at the Centre Claude-Robillard but did nothing to diminish the setting as the matching mats, the professional score screens as well as the black curtains and stage made the event look top notch.  The tournament in turn fielded some very good matches as some top level clubs such as Mohawk Valley and Matmen made the trip to Montreal thereby raising the calibre of the competition of which Quebec athletes acquitted themselves quite well.
