The twenty first Commonwealth Games concluded this past weekend as the wrestling came more towards the end of the games. Quebec athletes composed half the members for the Men's Team as well as nearly half the coaching staff. Vincent DeMarinis (65 kgs), Alex Moore (86 kgs) and Jordan Steen (97 kgs) were accompanied by coaches Rob Moore and Martine Dugrenier to the Gold Coast of Australia. The tournament featured some tough competition. Even though ten of the twelve athletes took home medals, only two were Gold Medals indicating the high level of competition.

On the second day of wrestling on Friday April 13th, Vincent DeMarinis and Jordan Steen were the first Quebec athletes to take to the mat. Both Vince and Jordan would win their first matches by Technical Falls before succumbing to some stiff competition in the later rounds. Vince would come up just short in the Bronze Medal final to finish 5th while Jordan would rebound from his loss in the Semi-final to win Bronze at 97 kgs.

On the final day of competition (Saturday April 14th), Alex Moore would take to the mats in his quest to win his first medal at the Commonwealth Games. Alex would come out strong, winning his first two matches in dominant fashion before losing to a quick pin in the semi-final versus Pakistan after leading 6-0. Alex would lose in the Bronze Medal final to his opponent from India to place 5th.
