The 23rd Annual Matteo Pellicone Tournament took place on Friday May 25th in Sassari City, Sardenia.  The tournament has been a staple on the Quebec tournament schedule and featured a UWW Cadet division for the first time.  The tournament featured many nations from Europe, Asia and South America and has always featured a good level of competition to warrant the trip to Sardenia.  The Montreal YMHA sent athletes to compete in the Cadet and Junior divisions and the results were as follows.  Wrestling in the 65 kgs Cadet Division, Nolan O’Rourke of the Island Wrestling Academy wrestling for the Montreal YMHA would win his Gold medal match versus Andrei Tanase (ROM) by a score of 4-4 while Brayden Todd of the London Amateur Wrestling, also wrestling for the Montreal YMHA would wrestle a tough tournament but would ultimately finish off with a Bronze Medal at the 57 kgs Junior division.
