Day 3 from the Matteo Pellicone Tournament: Women's competition

Day three of the Matteo Pellicone took place on Friday May 24th and today the women were in the spotlight.  Canada sent a strong contingent of women, which contained World and Olympic medallists to compete with some of the best from other countries. Quebec was well represented with former World Bronze Medallist Linda Morais, 2019 Pan-American Champion Laurence Beauregard, 2019 U-Sport Champions Amanda Savard and Jade Dufour, 2019 Senior National medallists Jayd Davis (National Champion 55 kg), Alexia Sherland (Silver Medal 68 kg).  The competition was extremely tough with our Quebec wrestlers going against a very tough field with countries ranging from South America to Eastern Europe.  In the end, the results were the following:

At 50 kg Jade Dufour and Amanda Savard (65 kg) would finish 4th while at 59 kg, Laurence Beauregard and Linda Morais would take home Bronze and Gold respectively. Thanks to these strong performances, Canada would finish as the 1stplace team in the tournament. Congratulations to our Quebec women on their great accomplishments and best of luck to our Quebec men!
