Call for nomination of an Athlete's Representative

To all the athletes,                                                                                                   

 

The new by-laws, adopted on May 15th 2019, provide that the composition of the board of directors includes a director elected by and amongst the National athletes of the FLOQ.

The vote will be held through an electronic vote, during the week prior to the general annual assembly and the results will be compiled by a tierce person Me Gonthier (membre des services juridiques, RLSQ).

We invite you to submit your name with a small explanation why you would like to sit on the Board of Directors of the FLOQ and why do you think you should be the one.

In order to present your candidacy as the athletes’ director to sit on the Board of Directors you need to:

  • Have completed your membership form and paid your membership fees
  • Be 18 years old and older
  • Be a national athlete meaning you have represented Quebec at a junior, senior, USport championship or at UWW sanctioned event OR be a retired national athlete for less than two years.
  • Submit your candidacy to the Board of directors with the following documents: (1) candidacy form, (2) curriculum vitae; (3) proof of compliance to the background check policy adopted by the FLOQ.

 

For the next two (2) years, your role as an athletes’ director will be:

  • To represent all the athletes, being the athletes’ voice and protecting their rights
  • To be involved in developing policies governing members’ conduct and safety in sports
  • To be involved in developing policies concerning the selection of athletes
  • To be involved in developing marketing partnerships

 

During the first week of June all the national athlete members will receive an e-mail with regard to the electronic voting procedure.
