Cleo Ncube of the Montreal YMHA was the highest placing male wrestler for Team Canada at this years World Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.  Cleo wrestled at the 70 kg class, winning three matches while losing two.

Cleo’s first opponent was  Arun Arun of India which he won via a Technical Superiority by a score of 11-0.  His next opponent, Dai-Sung Kim of North Korea was slightly closer as the score finished off 4-2.

Cleo would lose a hard fought match to the eventual World Champion, Khetik Tsabolov of Russia by the score of 8-6.  Cleo would add an 8-0 victory over Yoan Blanco of Ecuador before losing the Bronze medal to Ali Shabanau of Belarus.  Congratulations Cleo and best of luck in the upcoming year.
