The final weekend of January saw a flurry of tournaments happening at home and abroad as Quebec clubs competed in tournaments in Montreal, New Brunswick and London Ontario. On Saturday, January 27th the Ed Meagher tournament was held at Loyola High School while the UNB Open and the Roar on the River took place in Fredericton New Brunswick at the University of New Brunswick. Sunday saw the Eastern Canadian Championships, also at the University of New Brunswick and the Western Open held at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Clubs who were in action this weekend were Concordia University, Howard S. Billings, Lower Canada College, Loyola High School, the Montreal NTC, the Montreal NTC-Vanier, les Patriotes de St-Cesaire, Royal West Academy and Tritton Performance Wrestling Club.
The Ed Meagher Tournament
The Ed Meagher Tournament is part of a larger sports festival held by Loyola High School. The tournament features many sports of which wrestling is a part of. This year’s edition had Loyola, Howard S. Billings, Lower Canada College and Selwyn House compete at the competition. The results were as follows:

The UNB Open
The UNB Open saw Concordia, Montreal NTC, and Tritton Performance Wrestling Club send athletes to the tournament. The UNB Open is another staple of the USport university schedule and has attracted many athletes from across Canada and the United States to compete. The results were as follows:

The Roar on the River
The Roar on the River, held on the same day as the UNB Open, was a high school tournament, also held at the University of New Brunswick. The Montreal NTC, the Montreal NTC-Vanier, Royal West Academy and Tritton Performance Wrestling Club sent athletes to the competition. The tournament turned out to be a competitive one as many of our Quebec athletes had a some good matches. The results for the tournament were the following:

The Eastern Canadian Championships
The Eastern Canadian Championships took place on the Sunday at the University of New Brunswick in Fredricton. The Patriotes de St-Cesaire and the Tritton Performance Wrestling Club were the Quebec Clubs in action as a variety of age groups came to compete.
