Quebec wrestlers had a tremendous showing at the U23 and Senior World Team trials, held on Saturday September 4th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Members of the Montreal Wrestling Club and Concordia University competed for spots in the following divisions.

For the U23 World Championships which will held from November 1-7th in Serbia, six wrestlers qualified for the event. For the men, Julien Choquette (92 kg) and Aly Barghout (125kg) took first place while Jason Luneau (65kg) placed second. For the women, Virginie Gascon (55kg), Erin Rainville (59kg) and Alexia Sherland (72kg) all placed first in their respective divisions.

For the Seniors, three wrestlers qualified for the World championships to be held in Oslo on October the 1st. Sam Barmish (79 kg) and Jordie Steen (92 kg) qualified for the men while Linda Morais (59 kg) qualified on the Women’s side. All other Quebec wrestlers placed second at the qualifiers and they were the following:

Aly Barghout (125kg)
