Quebec was well represented at this year’s continental championships as the 2023 edition of the Pan-American Championships were held Buenos Aires in Argentina from May 3rd to the 6th. Freestyle wrestling was represented by members of the Montreal Wrestling Club NTC as Jason Luneau (61 kg), Alex Moore (86 kg) and Jeremy Poirier (92 kg) would compete while Greco-Roman was represented by John Yeats (82 kg) of the Tritton Performance Wrestling Club.
The competition would begin with the Greco-Roman as John Yeats would lose his first match to Spencer Woods of the United States by Grand Superiority but would rebound with a win by Grand Superiority (8-0) over Mexico to secure a Bronze Medal.

For the Freestyle competition, Jeremy Poirier would get things started with an 8-2 victory over Puerto Rico. Jeremy would win his next two matches (6-3 versus Ecuador and Forfeit win) to set up a true final with Micheal Justin Machiavello of the United States. Jeremy would start the match off well but lose via pin (10-0) and would walk away with a Silver Medal.

The following day would see Jason Luneau and Alex Moore take to the mat to finish off the competition. Jason would start off with two tough losses to opponents from Puerto Rico and the United States but would rebound with two strong wins, both by Technical Superiority against Brazil (10-0) and Argentina (13-2) to finish off with a Bronze Medal.

Finally, Alex Moore would begin his quest for a medal with a dominant Technical Superiority Win (10-0) versus Bolivia in the qualifying round. He would follow that up with a win in the Quarter-Finals by points (7-3) over Columbia. In the Semi-Finals, Alex would win again on points (5-2) versus Venezuela to set up a Gold medal final against Yurieski Torreblanca Queralta of Cuba. Alex would wrestle extremely well, losing by points (5-1) to come home with a Silver Medal.
