The 2022 Commonwealth Games were held from August 3rd to the 5th in Birmingham England. With only the Olympic weights being competed, Quebec was well represented on the Mens and Women’s sides as Alex Moore (86 kg) and Linda Morais (68 kg) were in attendance.
Alex would face off against Ekereme Agiomor of Nigeria. Alex would win that match by Grand Superiority (10-0) to advance to the quarter final where he would wrestle against Suresh Chanaka Warnakulasuriya Fernando of Sri Lanka. Alex would also win this match comfortably (10-0) and advance to the semifinals against Deepak Punia of India. Alex would wrestle a good match but would lose on points (3-1) and would go for Bronze against Matthew Clay Oxenham of New Zealand. Alex would win in convincing fashion (10-0) by Grand Superiority to take home the Bronze Medal.

Linda’s quarterfinal match would start off in a dominant fashion with a pin (6-0) against Aza Amylee Sephora of Mauritius. Linda would then win her semi-final match against Tayla Tuahine Ford of New Zealand. Linda would win via points (6-4) to advance to the Gold Medal final against Blessing Oborudud of Nigeria. Linda would wrestle a good match but would lose via points (5-1) and finish off with the Silver Medal.
