The 25th Copa Sparta was held San Juan Puerto Rico on October the 7th and 8th. Due to lockdowns, travel restrictions and elemental problems due to hurricanes, the tournament was small in numbers but high in quality. Despite being away for a period of time, the tournament proceeded with great efficiency and enthusiasm.

The tournament was held at the University of San Juan
Athletes from all over came to compete, with Quebec sending a strong group of athletes to compete as Montreal Wrestling Club NTC, les Patriotes de St-Cesaire and Triton Performance Wrestling Club all had representatives.
The first day saw Cadet and Senior Women compete along with the Junior and Senior Males. The results for Quebec were as follows:

In addition to this, Rose Lacoste was named as the Outstanding Female Wrestler for the tournament as she went 4-0!

The second day of completion saw the younger age groups take to the mat. Quebec’s only representative was Cruz Lewis, who competed at the 65 kg, Cadet Boys division.

Congratulations to all our international wrestlers who competed at the competition. For many of the athletes, this was their first international competition and they performed quite well. All in all, a good start to a new wrestling season.
